WHAT IS HOUSING SUPPORT?
Here you will find information on what housing support is and how it can work to get support from housing support. It is difficult to describe exactly what it is like to have housing support. It depends on how you want it and what is important to you.
Housing support is adapted to you and your needs and wishes, but also to your ability to participate. Some have support for a few hours a week while others have support several times a day. Residential support is available throughout the day. It is you who applies for housing support and therefore you should be prepared to receive support.
You can also have your housing support worker to exchange thoughts and ideas with. Together you can find strategies to solve problems and develop what you are good at.
Implementation plan
When you receive housing support, you will draw up an implementation plan together with the start-up team.
The implementation plan describes what your support should look like, what you want support with, when you want support, what you think is important and what you want to achieve with the support.
The implementation plan is important so that the housing support workers can provide you with the support you need.
You decide who should be involved in drawing up the implementation plan. This may include family members and guardians.
The implementation plan is regularly monitored according to your support needs.
Documentation
Staff have a legal obligation to record the support you receive. This means that staff write down what is important for you to get the right support.
You have the right to read what staff write about you. If you want to do so, talk to the head of the unit.
If you want to do so, talk to the head of the unit. You decide whether you want your family or guardian to read what staff have written about you.
Management of money
Residential support workers do not manage your money but can support you to organise your finances.
If you need more support with money and finances, you can apply for a guardian or trustee. You can apply for a guardian or trustee from your municipality’s supervisory authority.
Housing support can support you in applying for a guardian or trustee if you need one.
If you have any questions
You can always turn to your housing support workers with your questions. You can also talk to the head of the unit or your LSS officer.
Gifts and loans
Staff are not allowed to accept gifts or money from you. Staff cannot borrow money or buy anything from you. Staff cannot lend you money or sell you anything.
Staff
The people who work to support you are called housing support workers. We have different professional backgrounds, experience and skills.
Through motivational work, counselling and support, we work to create the conditions for you to cope with everyday life as independently as possible and have a functioning social life.
Start-up team
After you have received a decision on housing support, the support will initially be provided by staff from the housing support start-up team.
This is the staff member who contacts you and meets you for the first time. They will give you the information you need and let you tell them about yourself and what you need support with.
The start-up team staff will carry out your support in the beginning to get to know you and learn about how your support should be in order to make it as good as possible for you. The start-up team will support you for three months. You will then be supported by housing support workers from a housing support team.
Head of Unit
There is a unit manager for the housing support you have. The Head of Unit is responsible for the staff.
Contact person
When you have housing support, you have at least one contact person from the staff. The contact person is responsible for ensuring that you get the right support and information. You also have the opportunity to discuss your support with your contact person at least once a month.
